Project Information:

The Central Building of the Turkish Contractors Association, which was completed with a gross construction area of 6,900,00 m² in the land area of 1.195,00 m² in Çankaya district of Ankara province, was completed. It was made under the employer. In the design of the building, it is aimed to read the principle of institutional transparency of the Union of Turkish Contractors in the building and in this direction, permeability as a fictional and structural tool in the interior and outdoor spaces is taken as basis. In this context, the continuity of the public sphere is provided through the functions that provide relations with the urban texture at the ground level of the structure, while the atrium, which provides the main fiction of the structure, carries the visual relationship between the floors from the entrance floor to the office areas. As it goes up, it ends with a glass roof, considering the privacy of private spaces such as the management floor and ‘living room’ area. The project also includes the systems used for the first time in Turkey in terms of passive heating and cooling techniques. A reinforced concrete maze is designed under the parking lots on the basement floors to minimize energy consumption in heating and cooling by using the temperature difference between day and night, which is the typical climate feature of Ankara. This maze serves as a battery that helps to passively cool the daytime by storing night temperature in summer. In winter, it uses the essence of the soil gold and conditioned the daytime air as passive. Chilled Beams used for the first time in Turkey, on the other hand, help to provide comfort according to the environment conditions and help in the final heating/cooling. On the facade of the building, the façade shell consists of two layers. The first layer that surrounds the structure is a classic glass glass -joined panel system, and the second layer is stainless steel mesh that provides shading and sun control. The density of this layer, which is designed with sensitivity, was calculated to prevent the sun -caused heat gain by optimizing openings according to orientations without preventing the interrelation of the residents of the building. The project, which owns the Leed Platinum certificate, is a ‘integrated design’ product that contributes to the development of the construction and material sector in Turkey by coordinating all disciplines to the finest detail under the leadership of architect, and promotes the use of local materials in Turkey by conducting experiences, studies and R & D studies. Employer: Mesa Mesken Sanayii A.Ş. Total Construction Area: 6,900 m² Work Scope: Crude Structure Works (Sub -contractor) Duration of the Work: Start / January 2013 - Finish / May 2013
